Antonio Rogerio Nogueira Has Found A Replacement: Jason Brilz
Posted by: | CommentsAfter former UFC light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin withdrew from UFC 114 speculation began in earnest regarding who would replace him to fight Antonio Rogerio Negueira…
Well, Jason Brilz (3-1 UFC) has stepped up to the plate.
Brilz has some form in the UFC having bested Tim Boetsch and Brad Morris though he has lost to TUF winner Eliot Marshall.
Forrest Griffin Out Of UFC 114 Fight With Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
Posted by: | Comments
Former UFC light heavyweight champ Forrest Griffin has pulled out of his fight with Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on May 29th after suffering an undisclosed injury in training.
At this moment in time it is thought that Nogueira will still fight on the card as the UFC are rushing to find a replacement.
UFC 114 sees current light heavyweight champ Lyoto Machida defend his title in a rematch against former Griffin victim; Shogun Rua.
How serious Griffin’s injury is remains to be seen and speculation will now mount oncerning whether or not his withdrawal means that a fight with Nogueira will ever happen.
Personally I always felt that beating Nogueira was a long shot as far as Griffin is concerned, his withdrawal; however disappointing, is a good thing for his career.
We’ll keep you posted.

Randy Couture: “Fedor’s Going To Have To Step Up And Fight Top Level Guys Again”
Posted by: | Comments
The news that Fedor Emelianenko is not going to be fighting Fabricio Werdum for the StrikeForce organisation in April has prompted even Randy Couture to throw in his ten cents to the Internet debate regarding the perceived poor quality of opposition ‘The Last Emperor ‘has faced since PRIDE went bust.
“At some point Fedor’s going to have to step up and be willing to fight top level guys again. I don’t know what’s going on with him or why he’s not willing to do that and certainly Werdum is one of those guys he’s going to have to face to be considered a top fighter. To be pound-for-pound best fighter in the world he’s going to have to start facing tougher opponents. Hopefully we’ll see [the Werdum] fight happen.”
It’s such a shame what’s happening with Fedor’s career. I can’t help but feel that as long as he stays in the StrikeForce organisation his legacy will be forever in doubt and open to criticism. I agree with Couture on this one, Fedor DOES need to step up and prove himself once again.
Hopefully he will but I won’t count on it.
Frank Mir – Sticks And Stones
Posted by: | Comments
Since former UFC heavyweight champ Frank Mir said that he wants to essentially kill Brock Lesnar the media (this writer included) have been very vocal in airing their disgust that someone with his status would say something so, well, insensitive.
Mir has never been one to shirk away from saying what’s on his mind and in the past has delivered some pretty useful sound-bites that all headline writers at one time or another have been grateful for. Perhaps it’s a little harsh then that we all recoil in shock and anger when Mir delivers what amounted to a death threat, when at the end of the day, Mir has given us exactly what we want; something to write about.
I in no way condone what Mir said but as the days have passed and his words have lost some of their shock value I can see that Mir was only trying to stir up some controversy to get himself noticed.
And when I look back at this crazy sport I see that a lot of fighters say a lot of crazy things in the build up to big fights that always get washed away after the fights have been fought. After all; didn’t BJ Penn threaten the life of GSP ahead of their rematch, in a roundabout way?
No one really remembers that, or if they do, no one really talks about it anymore and why is that?
Because everyone knew it was just BJ either A; trying to psyche himself up for the biggest fight of his life or B: just trying to sell some more PPV’s
I guess what I’m saying is that perhaps I over-reacted when I read what Mir said about wanting Lesnar to die, perhaps I’m sensitive because I reside in the UK and in my formative years we had some very high profile boxing events where the losing fighters suffered appalling injuries (I’m thinking about Michael Watson and Gerald McClellan in particular) and my own countryman Johnny Owen died.
Perhaps it’s a little of all of the above or it could just as easily be down to the fact that I’m nothing more than a headline writer doing what a headline writer should do when a quote like Mir’s surfaces?
Either way, what Mir said isn’t the worst thing a fighter has ever said and I dare say to some fighters ahead of a grudge match, it’s what a few of them are secretly thinking during the build-up but are too afraid of saying the words in front of a microphone.
At the end of the day at least Frank Mir was being honest with us and yeah it got him some stick and yeah, it was insensitive but at least he said it out loud. Mir gives us all headlines on a regular basis and while we may not agree or condone with everything he says, he gives us work to do.
Instead of being offended perhaps we should all just lighten up a bit and remember that old phrase our parents taught us when we were kids that kind of applies to this very situation we find ourselves in right now…
“sticks and stones may break my bones but names will never hurt me”
James Toney Won’t Be Coming To The UFC Afterall…
Posted by: | Comments
According to heavyweight boxer James “Lights Out” Toney, Dana White is a, ahem, excuse me; a “ho”…
“Dana White is a straight up ho! He makes me a 5-fight offer for chump change and said I can’t box anymore if I accept it. He must have lost his damn mind. I’m the best of both worlds. Anyone in either sport that wants to come see me, we can do this.”
That there quote is Mr. Toney at his most charming.
The quote refers to Toney’s recent quest to join the UFC and the subsequent terms and conditions Dana White offered him before he would allow him to fight for MMA’s premiere organisation.
The exclusivity part of the contract is nothing new, every fighter under contract with the UFC had to agree to it so the question is, why does James Toney, an ageing boxing with no MMA experience think he’s so special?

Dan Hardy Says Both Koscheck And Fitch Got Beat Up By GSP So They Should Quit Bitching
Posted by: | Comments
Dan Hardy is pissed off with the constant bitching from Josh Koscheck and Jon Fitch who have both claimed that Dan Hardy doesn’t deserve his upcoming title shot against GSP.
“[Koscheck's] just bitching because I’m in this position and he’s not. There are a lot of guys out there and I know Jon Fitch said a few things the other day as well. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion and I’m sure those guys feel like they’re in a better position than me to contend for the belt, but they don’t know me and they don’t know what experience I’ve got and the fights I’ve come through to get to this stage. They’ve all had their chances and we know how those fights ended. Koscheck got beat up, Jon Fitch got beaten up, name it and GSP’s gone through them.”
I like the part where Hardy says that Koscheck and Fitch “don’t know the fights I’ve come through to get to this stage”
You mean they don’t have Wikipedia in America? (Perhaps he was being metaphorical?)
He’s right though, they’ve both had their turn and they both came up short so they should leave Hardy alone and get back in line…
Stephan Bonnar Wants A Rematch With Krzysztof Soszynski
Posted by: | Comments
Stephan Bonnar wants a rematch with Krzysztof Soszynski after losing to the Polish Experiment at last week’s UFC 110.
For those of you who watched the fight, you’ll know that an inadvertent headbutt from Soszynski opened up a nasty cut on Bonnar forcing the fight to be stopped…
“I want to finish the fight, man. It was only a few minutes left, right? It was a headbutt, and you know what the worst part is? Take a close-up on this head. This cut is actually shaped like a ‘K’ for Krzysztof, so I now I’ve got to walk around with a scar in the shape of a ‘K’ on it.”
A special K perhaps?
Sorry…
It must suck to be Ben Rothwell right now. I mean, he travelled all the way to Sydney Australia for UFC 110 only to be hit with travelers flu 48 hours before he was due to fight MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop.
Trust me on this one, I’ve had travellers flu and man does it suck. Your stomach cramps up and your shit flows like a McDonald’s chocolate milkshake. (sorry for the imagery but it’s all true, I swear!)
It’s no wonder that Rothwell had to pull out of the fight, one left boot to the mid section from Cro Cop and Rothwell’s crap factory would have staged a mass walkout. (again, sorry about this, I just seem to be fixated with crap this morning)
Anyway…
Now that Rothwell is on the mend, he’s hoping that he can face Cro Cop at UFC 115.
Dana White is also keen for Rothwell – Cro Cop to be rescheduled (Maybe coz there’s no one else for either to fight?)…
“Hopefully we can make this fight quick and put this one together soon,”
Has Frank Mir Gone Too Far?
Posted by: | Comments“I want to fight Brock Lesnar. I hate who he is as a person. I want to break his neck in the ring. I want him to be the first person that dies to Octagon-related injuries.”
Wow, I mean, seriously, wow. The above quote came from Frank Mir during a radio interview.
For the first time in a long time I’m speechless and I just had to post the comment to see what you guys think of it.
I don’t want to give the quote too much of my time as I honestly feel that it doesn’t warrent my attention but for some reason I can’t let it go.
What do you guys think? Has Mir gone too far or not?
Somehow Michael Bisping Thought He Deserved To Win Against Wanderlei Silva At UFC 110
Posted by: | Comments
For many who watched Michael Bisping’s defeat to MMA legend Wanderlei Silva on Saturday night, the Brit was lucky to make it to the final bell after almost being submitted AND knocked out in the final seconds of both the second and third rounds.
I know of no one who after seeing the fight thought that Bisping deserved the nod from the judges.
Well, except for Michael Bisping that is. He thinks he deserved to win…
‘It was a close fight, personally I thought I won the first two rounds.’
What makes Bisping think he deserved to win is anyone’s guess. Surely Bisping and his team must know that for all his jabbing and moving, Silva inflicted the most punishment?
‘Wanderlei did a great job, congratulations to him, full credit him on winning the fight…….personally apart from the guillotine-and I got dropped in the third-but apart from that as far as round two I didn’t really have any offense come my way. I felt I clearly won those first two rounds.’
Can you imagine the fan backlash had the judges given the fight to Bisping?
At the end of the day, Bisping simply didn’t do enough to win. He never really took the fight to Silva. Aside from the first round when he was more active, his performance against Silva was poor. Nothing like his performance in his fight against Denis Kang where Bisping got clipped by the Canadian and subsequently got mad and administered an ass-whooping.
Bisping has no one to blame for his defeat other than himself. He was too cautious and showed Silva too much respect. It seems to be a fatal flaw in Bisping’s makeup, on his day I really believe he has the tools to beat anyone in the middleweight division but it seems that everytime he steps up in class, he fails to take his self-belief with him.
In his three defeats against Rashad Evans, Dan Henderson and Wanderlei Silva, Bisping has not once shown the aggression that makes him such a formidable force against lesser opponents. In all three losses, Bisping’s gameplan was to jab and move and invite all three to hunt him down. Not once in those three fights did we see the real Michael Bisping.
So, instead of crying foul, Bisping and his team should take stock in this latest setback and realize that if he’s ever to reach the top of the UFC’s middleweight division then he’s going to have to take some risks in the big fights. He’s got to stop trying to play it safe because when all is said and done, playing it safe has seen him lose three times.
Cain Velasquez KO’s Nogueira In The 1st Round!
Posted by: | CommentsCain Velasquez spectacularly knocked out MMA legend Antonio Nogueira in the very first round at UFC 110.
Velasquez made surprisingly easy work of Big Nog especially when you consider he never once attempted a take-down.
Velasquez showed solid striking skills, especially the finish; a three punch combo which decked Nogueira. Velasquez was quick to react to his fallen foe, jumping on him and pounding him with five unanswered punches before the referee was able to stop the fight.
An amazing win for Velasquez who showed that he’s a serious threat to Brock Lesnar’s title.
What next for Big Nog?
Another fight with Cro Cop maybe?
Wanderlei Silva Out-Points Michael Bisping At UFC 110
Posted by: | CommentsWanderlei Silva made his UFC middleweight debut a successful one by out-pointing Michael Bisping at UFC 110 with a unanimous decision (29-28 x3).
Bisping took the first round with his better work-rate and some solid take-downs but was unable to maintain that momentum as the fight progressed. Silva started slowly and while he never showcased the wild style which made him an MMA legend, he did do enough to sway the judges in what was a tight affair.
It could be argued that on two separate occasions Bisping was saved by the bell. At the end of the second round, Bisping shot in for a take-down and although he was successful he found himself locked deep in a guillotine.
In the final frame, with ten seconds remaining, Silva launched a furious barrage which dropped Bisping heavily and were it not for the buzzer, a referee stoppage was a certainty.
It was a strange performance from Wanderlei Silva in that he fought a controlled fight. He picked his moments well and never once looked like losing his composure and flying into his berzerker rages.
Bisping on the other hand, fought exactly like many expected him to. He tried to keep the fight at range and shot for the occaisional take-down but like he does every time he steps up in class, he lacked the confidence to truly take the fight to Silva.
Good win for Wanderlei Silva, it will be interesting to see what the UFC has in store for him next. As for Bisping, any title aspirations are surely on the shelf now. He and his team have a massive rebuilding job ahead of them.
Ryan Bader Knocks Out Keith Jardine At UFC 110
Posted by: | CommentsRyan Bader moved to 12-0 in his MMA career with an impressive win over veteran Keith Jardine at UFC 110.
The early going went as many expected it would with both fighters content to stand and stalk each other for the first two rounds.
Going into the third round, it’s arguable that the fight was even on the scorecards. The first almost certainly went to Bader who scored a take-down and then controlled the ground while the second round was a bit harder to score as neither fighter imposed their will. Personally I gave the round to Jardine on account of his octagon generalship.
The third was also something of a scrappy affair and it looked like we were on our way to a decision until Bader scored with a short right hand which buckled the knees of Jardine. Bader backed off for a moment before realising that Jardine was in serious trouble and then launched a flying knee which connected with Jardine’s body, forcing him to back against the cage where Bader followed up with a missed wild right and a short left to the jaw which left Jardine out on his back forcing the ref to stop the fight.
It does seem that the sky is the limit for Ryan Bader, not many fighters finish Keith Jardine after the Dean of Mean finds his rhythm but that’s exactly what Bader did tonight.
Cro Cop Returns To Winning Ways At UFC 110
Posted by: | CommentsAnthony Perosh stepped in at the last minute to face MMA legend Mirko Cro Cop after Ben Rothwell pulled out with injury and at the very least, Perosh can walk away from UFC 110 with his head held high after displaying amazing levels of courage and determination as he found himself on the wrong side of a one-sided beat down from the Croatian legend.
The first round saw a focused Cro Cop hunt Perosh down with a level of urgency we’ve not seen from the former PRIDE standout in some time. Firing some mean straight lefts through Perosh’s guard, Cro Cop wasted no time in asserting his authority.
The fight followed a pretty brutal pattern with Cro Cop landing heavily with his straight which in turn left Perosh to try several desperate take-down attempts, all of which would fail.
Somehow Perosh survived the first round and made it into the second where, unfortunately for the hometown hero, it was more of the same.
Again Cro Cop stalked him, cutting off the octagon and landing his straight left whenever he threw it and again, Perosh desperately tried to take the fight to the ground whenever he could.
Unfortunately, whenever Perosh tried taking Crop Cop down, more often than not he ended up on the bottom, leaving himself with little room to maneuver away from Cro Cop’s elbows and bombs. A left elbow from top position late in the second opened up a deep cut on the bridge of Perosh’s nose forcing even the emotionless Cro Cop to wince in disbelief at its severity, Cro Cop immediately pulled up out of top position and motioned for Herb Dean to call the doctor in to take a look at his foe’s cut.
The doctor did take a look and allowed Perosh the opportunity to continue, which he did to a thunderous round of applause.
Perosh was determined not to quit in front of his hometown fans.
The fight restarted and once again Cro Cop stunned his opponent, wobbling Perosh and forcing him to try another take-down but again it was stuffed and again Cro Cop was able to do some damage. The bell sounded for the end of the second round and within seconds of getting back to his corner the fight was called off and Mirko Cro Cop was awarded his third win inside the Octagon.
All in all, it was a good day at the office for Mirko Cro Cop, sure he wasn’t up against a top tier opponent but you can only beat what’s in front of you and that’s exactly what Cro Cop did tonight; he beat what was in front of him; impressively.
Ben Rothwell Out Of UFC 110! Aussie Heavyweight Steps In!
Posted by: | Comments
Heavyweight Ben Rothwell has been forced to withdraw from his UFC 110 fight with Mirko Cro-Cop due to an undisclosed illness.
Instead of Rothwell, Cro-Cop will now face Australian Anthony Perosh.
Perosh is a relative unknown in the MMA world, the only fighters of note that he’s fought he’s lost to; Jeff Monson the former UFC heavyweight title challenger TKO’d him back in 2006 at UFC: Bitter Rivals, while he followed that up by dropping a decision to Christian Wellisch on the undercard of UFC 66: Liddell vs Ortiz 2.
Since those two back to back UFC losses, Perosh has fought almost exclusively for the Cage Fighting Championships, scoring five wins in his last seven fights. His professional record stands at 10-5 with all his wins coming either through submissions or tko’s.
Anderson Silva vs. Damian Maia – It’s A Pretty Intriguing Fight When You Think About It…
Posted by: | Comments
If you’re anything like me, you were probably a little deflated when the UFC announced that Damian Maia would be challenging Anderson Silva for the UFC gold at UFC 112.
After all, the memory of Maia getting knocked out by Nate Marquardt is still fresh in our minds and the reasoning is, if Marquardt can KO Maia with the first decent punch thrown, Anderson Silva, the most dangerous striker in the UFC will almost certainly do likewise.
I suppose it’s easy in this age of the highlight KO reel to forget that what makes Damian Maia a special fighter isn’t his standup skills; no, no one ever said it was, it’s always been about the ground game for Maia.
I’ve had a little time over the weekend to really think about an Anderson Silva – Damian Maia matchup and my pessimism has been lifted somewhat.
See, like many people I thought Maia was “exposed” against Marquardt but that couldn’t be further from the truth. Maia wasn’t “exposed”, he was just “caught”.
And getting “caught” happens to the best of them, just ask GSP.
Before getting KO’ed by Marquardt, I actually thought that Maia stood the best chance of beating Silva in the cage and when I think about it now, if anything, the loss to Marqaurdt, arguably; has improved his chances of scoring the upset. I mean, having been KO’ed now, Maia will know that he cannot leave his chin on a plate for Silva to feast on, no, now he will have to be crafty, he will have to draw upon his cunning to force the fight to the one place he excels; the ground.
If he copies the template laid down by Travis Lutter then he has a chance. For me; Lutter showed everyone the way to beat Silva, he had the gameplan but his lack of stamina ensured he couldn’t execute it.
Maia will have no such problems with his own stamina at UFC 112.
Anderson Silva vs. Damian Maia has been forced upon us. No one really wanted to see the fight pre-UFC 109 but I’ve got a sneaky feeling that post-UFC 112 no one will be complaining.
If Anderson Silva Is Stuck For An Opponent At UFC 112, I Know Just The Guy To Step In…
Posted by: | Comments
Here’s an interesting question for you all. IF Vitor Belfort’s injury is serious enough to rule him out of action for a couple of months and IF Chael Sonnen is too beat up to enter straight back into a training camp to replace Belfort, then who does UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva fight next?
Long-time rival Wanderlei Silva perhaps?
He’s already tied up with Michael Bisping.
Dan Henderson?
His contract at StrikeForce is watertight.
Um, I have a suggestion…
Why not Randy Couture?
Think about it, the light-heavyweight title rematch between Lyoto Machida and Shogun Rua doesn’t take place until May so that means as far as Couture goes, a title challenge won’t be happening until August at the earliest so what does Couture do in the meantime?
There have been some recent rumblings that The Natural is set to meet Rich Franklin at 205 but seriously, does anyone really want to see that?
Much better for Randy to do the superhero thing and invite Anderson Silva up to light-heavyweight for a scrap.
An Anderson Silva – Randy Couture fight at UFC 112 would make a lot of business sense for the UFC. They have just sold a 10% stake in the company to Abu Dhabi investors and really want their first PPV there to be something special; that much is obvious from the fact that they signed not one but two title fights for it. (BJ Penn – Frankie Edgar being the other one)
Now, it would be fair to assume that the UFC would loathe the idea of losing Anderson Silva to another PPV and you can wager large sums of money that they will do whatever they can to keep The Spider on the card whether he is defending his middleweight title or not.
So I shall put it to you again, why not give Randy Couture the call?
From a personal perspective, I don’t want to see Randy Couture v Rich Franklin, for me Rich Franklin deserves a chance to wet his feet in the light-heavyweight division before he’s thrust into a fight of such magnitude and besides, a win over Franklin doesn’t tell us anything new about Couture. Many people will pick Randy to win anyway figuring that Franklin has seen better days so again, like the recent Coleman fight, we’ll have another Randy Couture headliner where the butterflies are missing.
See, I always thought that Randy was all about doing the impossible?
Isn’t that what the whole Captain America shtick is all about? Going in against all the odds on a mission doomed for failure but somehow getting the job done and coming home the hero? Isn’t that what we love about Randy ‘The Natural’ Couture?
Beating Rich Franklin isn’t impossible, heck, in fact, not only is it actually possible it’s probable…
But beating Anderson Silva?
Now that my friends is Randy Couture territory.
Vitor Belfort Pulls Out Of Anderson Silva Title Fight
Posted by: | Comments
A shoulder injury has forced Vitor Belfort to withdraw from his UFC middleweight title challenge against Anderson Silva which was due to take place on April 10th in Abu Dhabi at UFC 112.
As of this moment in time, it is unclear as to whether or not Anderson Silva will still defend his title at UFC 112, I would assume that it comes down to how serious Belfort’s injury is. If it’s a case of him being out for a month or so then I would expect the UFC to push the fight back to another card but if it’s longer than that then don’t be surprised to see Chael Sonnen step in, after all, Belfort wasn’t due to start training for the fight until the beginning of next week so it’s not as if Sonnen would be stepping in at short notice, he would have the benefit of a full training camp to prepare for the title shot having won at last week’s UFC 109.
I suppose it all depends on the injuries Sonnen sustained at UFC 109, he did look pretty beat up in the post-fight press conference.
I bet the UFC are crapping themselves right now. If Belfort’s injuries are serious and Sonnen needs time to lick his wounds then what do they do with Anderson Silva? Other than Sonnen, no other contenders really jump out as being viable title contenders, both Michael Bisping and Wanderlei Silva, who are perhaps the only fighters who could jump in at short notice and not piss off the fans are due to fight each other at UFC 110 so that rules them out so who’s left?
It’s a pity that Dan Henderson is no longer with the UFC…
We’ll keep you updated on this one.
Bisping Promises To Go Toe To Toe With Wanderlei At UFC 110
Posted by: | Comments
You’d think that Michael Bisping would be somewhat gun-shy after getting knocked out by Dan Henderson and knocked down by Denis Kang in his previous two fights, I mean, most fighters would be.
But then Bisping isn’t most fighters.
“Before that fight (with Henderson), I was of the impression that I could go out there and stand with anyone for three rounds and not get knocked out. I’m not saying I would have beaten [Henderson], but I certainly believed that I could go out there and stand with him for three rounds and not get knocked out. Obviously, that wasn’t the case; I got knocked out. So I’ve tightened a few things up.”
What kind of things got tightened he didn’t say but my guess is he’s been working on his striking defence and octagon general-ship, well, hopefully he has been, especially if the next words that came out of his mouth are true…
“Wanderlei’s a strong clincher, but I’m planning on standing toe to toe and beating him head on,”
Going toe to toe with Wanderlei Silva is never a good idea but then I think Bisping and his team already know that. I expect them to apply the same strategy that they used for the Kang fight.
Bisping cannot afford to lose to Silva so you can pretty much assume that he’s going to use all his savvy to pull out the win by jabbing and moving his way to a decision victory while keeping enough in the tank for the occasional ground and pound assault should the fight need it. Trading bombs with Wanderlei Silva is not savvy; it’s stupid.
And trust me on this one folks, Michael Bisping is not stupid.
Mark ‘The Hammer’ Coleman Cut From The UFC
Posted by: | Comments
In a bit of a no-brainer, the UFC has cut Mark Coleman.
Coleman, who got choked out by Randy Couture at this past Saturday’s UFC 109 can’t be too sad at how his recent run with the UFC went. After all, he did headline UFC 109 and lost to a living legend in the process.
Coleman returned to the UFC to fight Shogun Rua last year and gave a pretty good account of himself despite getting stopped in the final round. He rebounded from that loss with a solid victory over gatekeeper Stephan Bonnar which set him up for the Couture headline fight.
Against Couture, Coleman looked and fought like an old man (which he actually is btw). He was a couple of seconds off the pace and found himself rocked on several occasions by Couture’s striking which if we’re honest, is not exactly regarded as one of Couture’s strengths.
Coleman exhibited all the signs of a ‘shot’ fighter last Saturday and fans of the Hammer should be glad that the UFC has made a decision that will prevent him from suffering any more beatings. (in the Octagon at least)
On that note; shame on Tito Ortiz for trying to engineer a fight with Coleman by heckling him during the post fight interview. Tito has no class, if he really felt the need to heckle an old man he should have turned his attention to Couture but then Tito’s not stupid, he knows that pissing off Couture will just get him another spanking. (Literally)
Frank Trigg Cut From The UFC After Loss To Matt Serra
Posted by: | Comments
Frank Trigg’s recent return to the UFC to go exactly to plan, well, not unless that plan was to suffer two first round stoppages.
Well, according to Trigg, the UFC has terminated his contract with immediate effect.
At this moment in time, Trigg is undecided as to whether to continue fighting or not but if one thing was clear from his brief return to the Octagon it’s that his days as an elite competitor are well and truly behind him.
There are still some fights out there for him, there always will be for a fighter with the name recognition that he has but hopefully he won’t go up against any hungry contenders again and become a stepping stone.
He’s better than that…
